Could The Painless Lip Flesh Wound Be Related To Unprotected Intercourse?
I am a 25 year old male who had brief unprotected sex with a female 5 days ago (very stupid) I had a white head on the corner of my lip after shaving with an electric shaver 2 days after the sexual encounter. When I popped it, it became dry and burned when I opened my mouth wide. Today I woke up with a painless open flesh inside my bottom lip which just felt like I maybe bit it while I was sleeping. I m going completely mad, stressing ridiculously and breaking down every day. My doctor says not to worry and it s too early to have conclusive testing. My anxiety is keeping me up every night and I feel like I m making myself sick. Please help.

It would be difficult to tell you conclusively about the exact cause of the sore, specially without having been able to have a look at it. Unprotected sex is a risk factor for STD's and therefore these need to be considered. A few likely possibilities are that either it is an aphthous ulcer Or it could be an STD like herpetic sore. Herpes has a short incubation period of 2-12 days. The third possibility is of course traumatic sore. Other STD's like syphilis is unlikely because the sore appeared too soon to be explained by the incubation period of syphilis. I suggest you to take a blood test for herpes at 2-4 weeks of sexual contact to look for circulating antibodies against the virus.
