Could The Pain On The Removed Pilonidal Cyst Be Due To Infection?
my name is brittany and i just recently had a palionital syst (not sure of spelling) removed. its been about two weeks and most of stitches have fallen out but 4 are left and are becoming embedded in to the skin. im in pain whenever i do anything even just laying down in bed hurts. could this be a sign of infection or is it normal. what should i do?
Hi thanks for asking question. If stitches are infected then discharge from there occur along with erythema to that area. Better to start antibiotic prophylaxis for 7 days. Within few days stich will dissolve. In between avoid stress. Avoid straining while defection. Take stool softener if needed. Drink more water and fruit juice. Avoid spicy food.don't worry. You will be alright.for pain relief take analgesic.thanks
