Could The Pain In The Abdomen Be Due To Umbilical Hernia?

My name is David Langston. I am 28 years old, 5' 11", 172 lbs. I had a vasectomy in April, but no other surgeries. I do not smoke, do drugs, or drink on a regular basis. I do not have a history of high blood pressure or cholesterol. Five days ago I was doing some heavy yard work, and I felt a sharp pain in my abdomen. The nest morning, I noticed a small lump about the diameter of a dime under the skin just below my naval, though not visable. I contacted my doctor who was not sure what it was, but he suggested I may have an umbilical hernia. I have had minor gas pains and I need to use the restroom three times a day - more often than normal. I am not in pain, though I do feel pressure when sitting upright, and when I massage the area, it feels as though I am massaging my intestines. Does this sound like an umbilical hernia, or are there other reasons for my discomfort?

hi
thanks for asking
i would like to answer as follow as you have given a very lucid history.it looks like an an umbilical hernia...you can do a simple test by your own...look at the ceiling, do a strong cough and notice the swelling,if it moves outside then it is an para umbilical hernia....you can also do an ultrasound abdomen to confirm it.....i do not think that your abdominal discomfort is due to other reasons....
I find this answer helpful
