Could The Pain In Chest Be Due To Smoking?

I ve smoked weed for about a couple of months, never doing the week, only on weekends. & 2 weeks ago I asked my dealer for a stronger type of weed, & I smoked it in my room I was fine. & Around that time thats when I started smoking in the shower. Yes I do tend to take very hot showers.& its a small bathroom & I have a tiny portable heater that I turn on. So thw next day I smoke the rest of the blunt in the shower & about 6 or 7 minutes after walking out of the bathroom into my room My cision started to slowly go black, my heart felt like it dropped & stopped beating & it also felt like The air in my body was slowly squeezing out. The heart thing would be on & off, it d feel like it was stopping & i d quickly sit up to breathe & then it would race & then i was able to breathe again. I went to the hospital the next day because that night the episode was worse. They EKG was clean, blood test nothing wrong. But i knew they found the THC in my system because they did a blood & urine test. She asked & I said no i didnt do drugs. & til this day my chest still feels weird, pain comes & goes. They prescribed Neproxin for the pain. The doc says it just sounds like anxiety attacks. But I just want my normal sel back

Hello
Welcome to HCM,
Cannabis has psychoactive and physiological effects when consumed. Acute effects while under the influence can include both euphoria and anxiety. Short-term physical effects of cannabis use include increased heart rate, dilation of blood vessels, and fluctuations in blood pressure, dry mouth, reddening of the eyes (congestion of the conjunctival blood vessels), a reduction in intra-ocular pressure, muscle relaxation and a sensation of cold or hot hands and feet.
The symptoms you felt that night were most possibly due to Cannabis and will subside if you withdraw from cannabis use.
Smoking is a major risk factor in angina(chest pain due to ischemia of heart muscle). You have stop smoking for chest pain to subside.

Hope this helps. Good luck
