Could The Pain In Abdomen Be Due To Stent Inserted In Bile Duct?

I had a stent put in my bile duct in 2008, because of pain which they thought would be a gallstone but could not find it. Now i seem to be having the same kind of pain but not as strong. But i am scared that it will come back as strong. Could the stent have moved???

Hi and welcome to HCM. Thanks for your query.
It is possible that stent causes symptoms even many years after placement and you should consider to do ERCP again or MRCP to reevaluate stent position. Also, this may be new stone or some other lesion that involves gallbladder or biliary ducts.
Wish you good health. Regards
