Could The Intake Of Ovral L Cause PCO? Is Taking Meprate Good For My Health?

Hi Doctor,

I'm 27yrs and I have PCO. One doctor advised me to take Ovral L and I continuied this tablet for 2 yrs as contraceptive pill. Later, when I wanted to conceive I consulted a doctor and they identified it as PCO. Did I get PCO due to Ovral L intake?

I'm not having Meprate 10mg to get my periods every month is it good for my health? Please advice.

Ovral-L i.e.levonorgesterel +ethinylestradiol is an oral contraceptive pill .
This drug never develops PCOD .
PCOD or Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease is due to hormonal imbalance and in young age group patient .
So please don't blame tablets.
Amenorrhea , dysfunctional uterine bleeding , irregular bleeding are characteristic feature of PCOD .
Meprate for amenorrhea or for bleeding is not good for health so don't use it for irregular bleeding.
In your case PCOD is responsible for irregular bleeding and amenooreha .
Consult a gynecologist and get his opinion and treatment for pcod and irregular bleeding.
