My friend that I have had sexual relations with now has an infected spleen and I was looking online and it says that an infected spleen could be because of aids. My friend has also been with other people and have had sexual relations with them but said they were clean and said he was to so Am I over reacting?

Hello
Your friend is having spleen infection as you mentioned in the query . Spleen infection may be due to AIDS or not due to AIDS , it is a question of debate because this type of infection in an HIV infected person ( if ) is known as opportunistic infection.
Only systemic fungus infection may infect spleen in HIV patient.
In AIDS patients organisms are inhaled and usually cause a self-limited disease in respiratory tract. But if this infection systemically spread , most notably to organs of reticuloendothelial system ( SPLEEN , LIVER BONE MARROW) , is the hallmark of disseminated disease usually seen in patients with low CD4+ cell counts.
Symptoms are include fever, fatigue, lymphadenopathy and dysponea. G I symptoms are dysphagia or odynophagia.
So I mentioned in detail so that you can judge whether your friend is having spleen infection due to AIDS or not .
Deal as mentioned.
