Could The Bump On Temple Of A Child Be A Cyst?

My grandson had a bump on the side of his face near the temple, which was first assumed to be acne-related, but it kept growing and looking like a cyst. He went to have it removed, and it ruptured. They sent it to be analyzed. Tthe boy's mother says the doctor said it was caused by the e-coli virus. Is this possible?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi..it can be a sebaceous cyst or acne and there is possibility that it can become secondarily infected with E Coli. Had it been primarily e coli infection it would have had affected miltisystem and not only skin. So it is most probably a secondary infection.
