Could Sweating Be Symptom Of High Blood Sugar?

My dad is 86 years old. he suffers from COPD and is oxygen while at his home an often when he goes out. Lately he has experienced sweats at different times of the day. He does not take insulin, but he does take a medication for this. Could these sweats be a symptom of high blood sugar?
