Could Stress Be The Reason For Severe Itching In Scalp?
Hi, I have a severe case of scalp itchiness that is causing me to lose sleep, I was thinking it might be stress. I switched shampoo and used a bunch of different hair moisturizer product, even tried ( avocado, eggs or yogurt) as suggested on some websites but this is still bothering me. I can not get a haircut because of all the bumps on my head that hurts. What should i do? Last time I checked a dermatologist for it he gave me a gel that did not help much as the itchiness came back 4 months after

Hi i do not think stress causes itching on the scalp with bumps but it can exaggregate the already present infection.
I think it is due to scalp folliculities.it can be cured by atarax 25 mg at night.antibiotic twice daily .use of betadine ad shampoo twicea week and application of mupirocin ointment twice daily.
If still no response u can start oral isotretinion 10 mg daily once to reduce sebum content over the scalp

It appears that you have cellulitis of the scalp, caused by some bacteria, may be preceded by fungal infection.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have culture and sensitivity of the discharge from the scalp.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, ornidazole, fluconazole, grisofulvin.
Take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts,
and protein rich foods for assisting in recovery.
