Could Stress Alter The Menstrual Cycle?

Hi My boyfriend and I had protected sex on July 31, I then got my period on August 3, however I have not gotten my period again, it was supposed to happen between the 11-13 of Sept. I usually have 36 day cycle. When should I be concerned? I have been fairly stressed the past month though does this mess my cycle up? p

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Yes stress or depression can alter menestrual periods. There are many other factors that can cause irregular menstrual cycle

1. Eating disorders
2. Hormonal problems like Hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, Hyperprolactinemia can cause irregular menstruation
3. Medications, such as antiepileptics or antipsychotics
4. Polycystic ovary syndrome
5. Pregnancy- you would have missed periods when you are pregnant. you could check by urine pregnancy test

If problem persist visit a gynaecologist

Hoping your query is solved.
