Could Sprained Ankle Followed By Pins And Needles Be Tear And Nerve Compression?
Hi there, I sprained my ankle pretty bad and doctors thought it was broken at first. I am in an ankle stirrup air cast and when i try to walk I get pins and needles in the bottom of my foot/toes. Is this normal or should I be concerned. Could it just be due to bad tearing and compression on the nerve?
This pin or needle sensation can be due to tight compression bandage. I would suggest you to get MRI of the ankle to see if there is any significant ligament damage is there. If yes then treatment can be done accordingly. If there is no ligament damage then you can take methylcobal tablet. This will strengthen your nerves.
