Could Spotting After Taking Pill Be Implantation Bleeding?
I just had my period from Jan 2-5. I had unprotected sex on January 12. Over the weekend, I had light brownish spotting, which lasted a day. I am concerned it could be implantation bleeding. I don't have any other symptoms. Also, I took Plan B on January 14. Should I be concerned?
Hello and thanks for the query, I am Dr Nilajkumar a consultant gynecologist and I will be helping you in your queries.
Implantation bleeding occurs around 6-7 days after conception. So for a sexual episode on 12 it may occur around 18 or later. If the bleeding has occurred early it is less likely to be implantation bleed. It may be due to plan B.
I suggest that you wait for your period. If you miss it get a urine test a week after the missed period to rule out pregnancy. Most likely the test will be negative though chances of delayed periods are high due to plan B.
Hope this helped.
