Could Shivering In Hands Be Symptom Of Parkinson S Disease?

My husband has been having issues with his right hand shaking over the past 5-10 years and now it appears as if his left could also be developing this problem. Also since a child he been sucking on his tongue & extending it partway out of his mouth especially when he s concentrating. Are these symptoms from Parkinson s disease or Postual* tremmors?

Hello,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Shivering in hands is seen commonly in elderly patients. As you have not mentioned his age in question it is difficult to comment on that.
Parkinson has a peculiar tremors called as ' resting tremors' that means person with this have tremors even when he is not doing any work or just resting and it does not go with some intention to do som work with the hands too.
There are manyother many other signs of this disease which will be better picked up by a neurologist on detailed physical examination.
Sticking tongue out whule doing some work of concentration is a very common phenomenon seen in many people. It is nothing to be worried about.
So i would suggest you to consult with a neurologist for proper diagnosis and if positive then treatment can also be started.
I hope i have answered your query well.
Thank you
