Could Sharp Pain In Left Side And Back After Being Off Steroids For Thrombocytopenia Be A Side Effect?

My platelets were 32000 in Nov. of 2013 and I was diagnosed with Thrombocytopenia. I was on heavy steroids until January 2014. My platelets are now 280000. I m having sharp pain in my left side and back, this is the 2nd time I ve had this pain. The first time (in Jan.) the ER dr. said it was from coming off of the steroids. I ve been off steroids for 2 months, do you have any idea what it could be?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe, it appears to be the pain of the gastric irritation, muscular pain, or may be a renal colic.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment. You may need to have a gastroscopy, and ultrasound for diagnosis.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ranitidine, domperidone, and paracetamol.
Avoid taking spices, junk foods, and oily foods.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
