Could Severe Pain On The Left Side Be Due To Sciatica Nerve?

I have sciatic nerve prob. Can t stand longer than 1 minute. Longer than minute, my lower left side hurts badly and I have to sit or lay down. Dr took X-rays of my hip, and pelvic area,shoulders and knees. Wants to do MRI. Very expensive.my question is , Is this normal for my condition?

hi
sciatica causes pain along the distribution of sciatic nerve. This needs to be sorted out because the condition you are describing does happen in sciatica. MRI is expensive but its better to rule out any condition like that.
