Could Severe Itching Be Due To Metal Rod Inside The Leg?

Hi i am a male, 50 years of age. I have a metal leg and it itches all the time. I itched it today and it bled lots it bled down from my knee to my foot. How can I stop the itching? Is it the metal inside making me itch? Or do I have eczema? Please help it is really worrying me

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Metal implants inside bones for fixation can lead to pain and swelling.
However, implants are unlikely to cause itching.
Severe itching is probably due to some other cause.
Local condition like dermatitis or eczema can lead to intense itch but a metal implant is unlikely to produce such symptoms.
I suggest you to consult a dermatologist (skin specialist) for clinical assessment and thus management.
