Hello, I am a 22 year old female and am worried because I have basically every symptom of genital herpes besides flu-like symptoms and I do not think my lymph nodes are swollen. Almost 4 weeks ago I had sex with someone who has had many sexual partners. A few days after having sex with him I developed a UTI for about 2 days. It went away with drinking cranberry juice/tea. Then about a week after that UTI I started having intense itchy, burning sensations on my mons pubis. The pain was constant. It felt like an outbreak. A few days after the pain started I developed some red bumps. They did not and do not look like herpes (not cauliflower - just one bump at each site). I have also had pain go down my groin and legs. More symptoms: painful to urinate, constant pain (itchy/ burning/discomfort) around my genitals and now anus. I tested negative for both chlamydia and gonorrhea and am waiting the finalized results for my wet swab which so far are negative for herpes. I also tested negative for a UTI but still painful to urinate. All the symptoms I have been having FEEL like herpes but I still haven t seen any sores/lesions that appear like herpes from images online. My doctor said my lymph nodes were not swollen last Friday (1/17/14) and told me that I appear to be fine and just have inflamed hair follicles and a boil (which did pus Wed 1/15/14). I have been very paranoid with my symptoms and have researched so much online. It appears some people do have false negatives for swabs? I am wondering if you can give some advice as to what may be going on with me...According to tests I received I do not have yeast infection or trich. I also am negative for clue cells. Like I said I am still waiting for the finalized results but deep down I do think I have something serious - just hoping it is not herpes! I am in constant pain around my genitals and it s really worrisome!
