Could Problem In Digestion Be Due To Narrowing Of Intestines From Colonoscopy?

My colon was perforated during a colonoscopy in 1999. I was in ICU for 9 day, but not surgery. Since that time my digestion has gotten to the place I can t eat high fiber food (veg/fruit) without it causing extreme bloating, nausea and pain. Is this from a narrowing of the intestines? What can I do? I take probiotics and leave all raw veg/fruit alone. Thank you for your help. Bonnie Linberg

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of perforation during colonoscopy in 1999 and were in ICU for 9 day, since then can not eat high fibers, bloating, nausea and pain. Wants to whether from narrowing of the intestines.
The easiest way to know this is to do Barium meals studies for intestines and barium enema.
These will tell whether there is any narrowing or adhesion and kinking and if present to consider for surgical correction.
