Hi, I am on vacation in Spain and my ear got clogged. I got otocerum from the pharmacy. However, after one days useage, I got worse and I hear less (basically nothing on one ear) So since I am flying tomorrow I am scared of having my eardrum broken. Should i go to a doctor here? Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent pain and clogged ears which is not exactly indicative of broken ear drum .It could be due to acute otitis media, wax in ear drum and blockage of Eustachian tube. I would suggest you to cover your ear and don't allow water to enter in them as it will exaggerate your condition. Ciprofolxacin tablet is effective for this. Don't put steroidal ear drops. Your symptoms will resolve in 3-4 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get examined. Use wax dissolving ear drop for 5 days as well. Don't apply any instrument in ear.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
