Could Painful, Swollen Tendon On Foot After Injury Be Fracture?

I went to redimed last night due to injuring my right foot. On Sunday I stepped out of a bed of a pick up truck and my right foot got caught under the wire the holds up the tailgate. My toes got caught on the tailgate. My left foot hit the ground and somehow my right foot came loose. I swelled up instantly. The doctor prescribed me 15mg of meloxicam cuz he thinks it is either a swollen or tone tendon in my foot. I took a tablet this morning at 8am and still have pain in my foot and especially in the arch of my when I take a step. What could it be fractured or what else could I take to ease this pain?

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got injury to your foot, it is painful specially during walking .It need x ray to exclude fracture.Till then icing will be soothing. Rest is important for recovery so avoid walking. Elevation of limb reduces swelling so foot on pillow during resting periods. Analgesic such as ibuprofen reduces pain. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
