Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Painful Knee After Being Hit Causing A Bruise Indicate Chipped Bone?
I ran into a wall and bruised my knee pretty badly it feels ok to bend it but it hurts to put a lot of pressure on it like running but walking is ok. Should I get a brace? What happened do you think? Also my knees look different and they feel different. Is it possible that I chipped a bone?
I have gone through your query, i will try to give you suggestion which will be helpful to you. If there was any underlying fracture you would have associated symptoms like swelling, difficulty in movements along with severe pain. Sometimes if there is any hairline fracture you may not get these symptoms. Based on your symptoms I think you could be having a ligament or meniscusinjury or tear or a hair line fracture. Take pain killers with seratopeptidase combination. If the symptoms doesn't subside then get xray done to rule out any underlying pathology. I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. I will be glad to help you in case if you have any further queries.
Wish you speedy recovery. Take care.
