Could Pain In Left Upper Quadrant Radiating To The Arm, Gastric Reflux While Being On Antacids Indicate Gastric Ulcer?

Hi I m asking a question on behalf of my mother. She s been suffering from left upper quadrant pain which has been radiating down her left arm, usually as she s in the middle of eating food and she has to stop. She s getting gastric reflux and takes antacids prior to food. She thinks she may have a gastric ulcer. Does this sound like the symptoms? She saw a new Dr who has referred her for an endoscopy and prescribed omeprazole but was told not to take these till after the endoscopy. I thought these are normally taken first and if no resolve then an endoscopy would be done? Thanks

Hi and Welcome to HCM,
Based on your sign and symptoms this may be due to gastric ulcer. Endoscopy may be taken. Since pain is radiating down your left arm ECG and Echo can be done to rule out any cardiac diseases.

Wish you speedy recovery
Thanks
