Could Metallic Taste In Mouth With Burning Feeling On Tongue Be Due To Increased Dosage Of Buproprion?

I have a metallic taste in my mouth and my tongue feels like I burnt it. I started buproprion 150 mg four days ago and was to increase to 300 mg today. Is this a side effect, and will it go away? Also how concerned do I need to be re: seizures, I never had seizures so I was just wondering. I am not a bid drinker, very rare. But when I do, is ok to drink if I take this med?, or will it cause seizures?

Thanks for query.although mettalic taste is not a registered side effect .yes few people experience this and its a temporary and reversible effect .it gets normal in few days you need not worry much about it.coming to alcohol and seizures.people on buprprion have increased risk of seizure .so all thing which trigger seizure should be avoided.binge drinking may trigger. and sudden alcohol withdrawal surely triggers seizure.as you mention you are not regular drinker try avoiding alcohol while you are on meds.regards
