Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have high blood pressure with meds runs around 140/70 have had flu and took some mucinex d , My blood pressure has dropped too 135/54. Stopped taking mucinex and the cozaar and blood pressure still running low while resting. I am white female 72 years old.
Dear Patient, the blood pressure going from 140/70 to 135/54 is not something you need to worry about too much. Mucinex usually doesn't cause bp to be low, but your flu infection and fever can do that. So with the numbers you are desribing i recommend keeping the cozaar paused as long as bp stays lower than 140/70. The mucinex is most likely not a problem. Hope you get better soon, if you have any clarificatons you can get back to me, if this was helpful please kindly rate my answer. Best regards
