Could Light Headedness And Dizziness Be Related To Wisdom Tooth Extraction?

I just had 3 wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. I was just now sitting down eating some warm soup, not too hot, not too cold and all of a sudden I got really light headed and dizzy. My grandma looked at me and said that I was really pale and I felt nauseas and it was hard walking. Any reasons for this?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

As you mention that you had three wisdom tooth extraction yesterday . Little dizziness is is very normal thing . It happens because two reasons .

- After effects of local anesthesia . Because three extraction must have require more amount of anesthesia then require . Anesthesia contain adrenaline which produce such symptoms .

- Secondly it can be due to large amount of blood loss during the procedure , which also shows such symptoms.

I would advice you to follow the post operative instructions , maintain proper oral hygiene .

If the dizziness is due to anesthesia it will go away in 2-3 days , because anesthesia take this much time to flush out of the body .

If it is due to blood loss then also it will go away in 2-3 days .

If symptoms persist for more then 2-3 days or get worse then consult your surgeon without any delay to rule out condition like nerve injury .

Till then take proper rest , drink plenty of water and eat healthy .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
