Question for Gynecologist or dermatologist: a doctor touched my genitals (vagina and anus). Before he touched me with gloves he put his fingers in his mouth, took some saliva and then touched the gloves and put them on. Basically he touched his mouth & saliva and then touched the tip of the gloves - and with that tip of glove touch me in the the vulva & vagina. Can I get infected with herpes or hpv or anything else that he might have? and what are the chances for that?
All the STD organisms are highly fragile. Not able to live outside the body even for seconds. Moreover saliva, tear, urine, sweat and motion are not containing the infectious organisms to make a fresh STD infection. So you are not at any risk for HPV or HSV infection. Nothing to worry. Dr S.murugan
