Could Hot Flashes, Fatigue, Heart Palpitations Be The Side Effects Of Keto Diet?

I started a keto diet on Monday. Tuesday I had an episode of extreme mid chest pain. I saw a cardiologist today and EKG and treadmill test were good. I ve also had ongoing symptoms which mimic hot flashes but I m post menopause. I feel weak, shaky, heart palpitations, clammy/cold sweats. I m wondering if it s from low blood sugar due to the new diet. I ve passed out before, near fainted at last mammogram. They made me drink a bottle of orange juice and slowly it went away. Now I m wondering if this diet is the right thing for my body. Thank IOU!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Normally, when on one of these diets, it is important to :(1) use a lot of fluids to help replace the fluids that are lost

(2) some persons , in the initial stages, also use a boullion to help with any electrolyte changes that may occur

If you can use enough fluids and also replace any electrolytes you should be ok but if you are unable to manage, you may want to use another diet.

I hope this helps
