Could Having Pink Eyes Lead To Bronchitis?

I have had pink eye for almost two weeks now. I went to the eye doctor after one week and he gave me steroid/antibiotic eye drops. Now I feel I have a chest cold or bronchitis - mucus when coughing and chest pain. Pink eye is a little better, but the drops now burn my eyes. Could pink eye cause bronchitis? Do I need oral antibiotics?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having pink eye with bronchitis. Pink eye will not lead to bronchitis, but any acute respiratory tract infection including bronchitis can lead to pink eye. Topical antibiotic eye drops are sufficient for treatment of pink eye.
Oral antibiotics are needed for treatment of bronchitis.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.

Hope the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
