Could Frequent Dizziness And Fainting Be Due To Diabetes?

my 14 year old daughter has been having some problems. She every now and then after standing for a while gets really dizzy. Black and white dots cloud her vision and she feels like shes going to faint. Her reaction when this happens is to sit down. Which she quickly does. But, when she sits down she gets really hot. And starts to sweat like theres no tomorrow. She then today, tried to stand again and she told me her vision then went blue and then disappeared altogether. We brought her outside and her blindness continued for about 10 minutes. We ve gone to see doctors before but they have said its just because she hasn t eaten before, But today she had a decent breakfast. We quickly got her some lemonade and she felt better. Could this be diabetes? Please help..thank you.

Hi,thanks for asking the question
The symptoms are more suggestive of orthostatic hypotension ie.pressure becomes low on standing up or standing for sometime. This can happen normally when we are dehydrated or when we are having fever etc: I don't think that it is because of low blood sugar.since she experiences the same complaint repeatedly it is advisable to rule out Asdisons (deficiency of hormone from adrenal gland). We can check sodium, potassium, blood sugar, serum cortisol levels .But usually there will be hyperpigmented (dark discolouration of skin and mucous membrane).I hope that these points will help you...
