Could Feeling Of Pop In Throat Be A Pulled Muscle?

Hi, I've had quite a bit of pain in my lower face (below my chin) that I think is due to blowing my nose so muc. Today I was blowing it very gently and felt a small "pop" in my throat; now my throat is killing me (hurts to swallow). Is this a pulled muscle?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have popping in throat and you are wondering if this occur due to muscle pull . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like muscle pull , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to a condition known as ETD ( eustachian tube dysfunction ) . This occur when we blow nose forcefully and mucous from upper respiratory track goes into eustachian tube . Mucous comes from respiratory track infection or post nasal drip . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination without any delay other wise infection can spread to ear . Doctormay order throat swab test , viral culture test or CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , decongestant and expectorant . For now take steam and do warm saline gargles .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
