Could Faster Heart Beat Be Due To Heart Problem?

My girlfriends heart will start beating really fast almost like she just went running I can feel it beating when I put my hand on her chest then it will come back to normal and she is not doing anything at the time to make it beat like that...Could this be the start of a hearrt problem??
