Could Eczema And Phlegm In Chest Be The Side Effect Of Serdep?

My 16-year-old son (adopted at 4 months) is ADHD and was on Ritalin from age 6-12 (every kind and strength). The mood swings were so severe that we ceased all meds. For the past 2 years (with puberty and full adolescence) he has become increasingly defiant, uncooperative and angry - with everybody (teachers, parents, boys at school). He has been in three different high schools already (not coping with school work and detention constantly for behaviour). A neuropsychiatrist saw him 2 months ago and prescribed Zoloft (25mg to start) and he has now been on 50 mg for a month. He doesn t want to take the meds, so has been taking irregularly. His teachers say he is no different (he s in boarding school). His doctor has suggested we try 100mg for the next month while he is at home and I can observe him. He has dreadful eczema and is chesty a great deal (had pneumonia twice, and bronchitis at least twice a year) - I am concerned about the side effects of 100mg Serdep. What should I watch out for, and when do I know to change the dose? (His doctor is on leave for the next month)

Ok, eczema and phlegm (and many other symptoms) are signs of histamine/allergy. While certainly someone could have an allergic reaction to any medicine, it is more common to have allergies to non-medicines such as pollen. Indeed, young people can get fidgetty from allergies and not even have ADHD. The histamine symptoms are all treated easily by anti-histamines nearly all of which are over the counter. Indeed, the behaviors might receeed with this. There are ones which are sedating (benadryl) and ones which are not sedating.
