Could Dull Earache After Blowing The Nose Hard Followed By Strange Noise In Right Ear Indicate Ear Damage?
I am getting over a bad cold. Last night I blew my nose a bit too hard and heard a strange noise in my right ear followed by it being completely blocked. I could not hear out of it for about 10 minutes. During that time I felt very dizzy. Then it cleared and the dizziness went away. Today I have a dull earache and my hearing is fine. Should I be concerned that I did damage? Should I see a doctor or wait? I have had to blow my nose 4-5 times today but did so very gently and it didn t cause ear pain, clogging or noise. Thank you.
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum. It appears that when you blow the nose, the eustachean tube has blocked and caused the low pressure in the middle ear and internal ear. As the pressure in the pharynx is released eustachean tube opens and get the normal position. I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment to prevent any further events like this. Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
good day! all it indicates is a midle ear involvement due to nasal congestion and needs simpl decongstants and antibiotics like amoxil. if the problem persist sek otorhinolaryngologist for further management. Dizzy spells and all other symptoms are well explained by this illness. nothing to worry about all is well s khan
