Could Dizziness Be A Symptom Of Diabetes?

Hello, I recently found out that i have balanitis (a fungal that takes place in the tip of a penis due to low hygene or uncontrolled diabetes), the doctor noticed two tiny balls( or maybe a sort of gland i cant remember but it feels like a half-inch ball) located near my V cut in my lower body. he said those can be produce or be swollen due to the fungai but he also mention the possibility of having diabetes. i dont really know if there s a history in my family with diabetes so i can t really be sure. however the one thing i forgot to ask the doctor was that recently and in the past i always felt really dizzy at random times during the day. it was more as if i m standing up or even just walking and my mind goes clear and i feel like i m right about to pass out. i always thought that maybe it was because i barely ate enough food before it happened instead of just the usual getting up really quick out of your bed and feeling dizzy. anyways, i m planning to take a physical exam later on, but how likely am i to be diagnose with diabetes? i am 18 years old, 5 10 and i m constantly active and excerising as well as lifting weights. i watch what i eat for the most part but i don t really know if i could have it or not? do you happen to have any tips doctor? thank you.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Fungal infection infecting a young person like you is rare. It is possible that your sugars may be elevated. The safest and the most efficient way to tackle this problem is by doing a glucose tolerance test along with HbA1c. this will tell you for sure about Diabetes. Dizziness is not a very classical symptom of diabetes as it can happen in both low sugar, high sugars and a variety of other conditions. My suggestion is to keep your mind open and get the investigations done to look for the cause of your problems.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
