Could Chest Pain Be Due To GERD?

my son has been experiencing severe chest pain and is having great difficulty sleeping soundly. He has been to a cardiologist and all of his tests have come back normal. I have been doing some reading about GERD. Is there any possibility it could be GERD?

Hello my friend
I am Dr.Arianisa
Thanks for your question on HCM

Some of the symptoms of GERD are:
Pain in the upper abdomen and chest, feeling sick, an acid taste in the mouth, bloating, belching, indigestion (dyspepsia), and a burning pain when you swallow hot drinks. Like heartburn, these symptoms tend to come and go, and tend to be worse after a meal.
Heartburn: this is the main symptom. This is a burning feeling which rises from the upper tummy (abdomen) or lower chest up towards the neck.
A persistent cough, particularly at night with coming back
of food on mouth .
Advice your son to be careful on what he eat and drink. He have to eat healthy food,If you are overweight it puts extra pressure on the stomach and encourages acid reflux. Losing some weight may ease the symptoms. Some medicines may make symptoms worse
If he gets symptoms that i say frequently then see a doctor.

Hope your son can be good fast
Best regards
