Could Bumps On Penis Be Due To Genital HSV?

I am concerned I might have genital hsv1. My ex fiance cheated on me we had a sloppy break up and she regularly went down on me. She did get cold sores but I can remember any specific instance. One night after ruff sex and toys I woke up and my dick felt like it broke and I was red around my genital area.

I left her a month later... the night before we were to be wed. I got tested and I am positive for hsv 1. At the same time I have had bad hemrroids I felt the vein pop in my butt at work. I confirmed this at a doctor's office and I bleed any time I push to hard I have a very technical hard job so I'm stressed often. Since then I have had 2 times where I have had very small pimple like objects 1 or 2 that go away with time and do not rupture. I also have been to a dermitologist 3 times. The first time he said they were oil gland or PPP which I do have pink ones on my crown and 2 under my head which have been there a long time. I keep freaking out and that's why I have been back 3 times. I have a few very small white bumps on the right side of my dick they do not go away but the 2 times I saw the white bumps one or two of these very small white bumps grew and shrunk on there own. I do sweat heavy... The dermitologist on the second time told me to stop freaking out and we sat and looked at all the potential s I was scared of and assured me I was good and I mentioned a new girl to him and my libido was dead because I didn't want to hurt her. He assured me I was good and I needed to take this girl before she walked away. Since then I have been dating this girl I now love and treasure Iinformed her of my fears and she wanted to have sex sometime into the relationship. We had sex and about a month a after we did she had sever back pain she attribted to appendicitice. She holistically treated her self and it eventually went away. One night she had pain peeing so we got her azo and ahe said she gets that sometimes and about 2 months after the big back pain she had it again about a week ago but it wasn't as sever I took her to the doctor he took a xray and said it looked like gas. I had the second time I had 2 very small white bumps last week that have shrunk on there own. I'm very scared my ex gave me genital hsv1 and now I passed it to this amazing girl.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Genital herpes classically presents with grouped discrete fluid filled lesions. The lesions are painful or have a burning sensation.

Hsv is usually transmitted by close contact/intimate contact with an infected sexual partner. After going through your history, I am doubtful that the lesions which you are suspecting as due to herpes are actually herpetic in origin. They rather seem to me as pearly penile papules.

Moreover, your doctor has also not confirmed those suspicious looking lesions on your genitalia as herpes. The lesions of herpes are fairly distinctive to be confused with something else.

Having said that, herpes may be clinically silent and remain so for long periods of time, however, it can still be passed on to sexual contacts.

However, since you do have the virus inside your system you may pass it on to your sexual partner. Back pain is not a symptom of herpes. The prodrome of herpes genitalis rather may start as pain in hip, buttock that radiates down to the legs. The prodrome is accompanied or followed by an eruption of herpetic blisters or erosions. Absence of sores also makes it unlikely that she has got herpes.

So, I am doubtful that the episode of back pain that she recently had has anything to do with genital herpes.

She may take up a blood test for herpes to be sure whether she has got the virus or not.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kakkar S.
