Could Balance Issues Be Related To Taking Levetiracetam?
Thanks for your help. My question regards Levetiracetam. My neurologist has been increasing the dose over the years, but I continue to have overnight gran mals nonetheless. Recently my balance has gotten worse when I cut BACK on my dose. I was taking six 500mg tabs per diem, but have cut back to two. Balance has been a problem for me for several years, but I thought it would get better by cutting back on the meds. What do you think?
Levetiracetam dose 1000–3000 mg/d; it can cause incoordination but not any frank balance problem.Look for other causes like impaired peripheral sensation (proprioception and touch)
