Could Danogen Be Taken Instead Of Danazol For Endometriosis?

I have been diagnosed with endometriosis. The doctor prescribed DANAZOL but since I can not find it a pharmacist has recommended DANOGEN instead. Is this ok? Will I have to take the drug for long for the condition to be reversed. The doctor has said I should take the drug for one month of trial. How can I know that the condition has been treated after taking the medication and resuming back to the normal periods.

Hello,
This is Dr. Klarida Papaqako answering your question.

Yes, Danogen is the same as Danazol, because Danogen is just one of the trade names of Danazol. So it is ok to use.

Also, If your doctor has told you that you should take for a month of trial, means that you need to return to him/her after a month, s/he will evaluate if the medicine is working and will decide how much you will need to continue it.
Endometriosis is a chronic problem, so you will need to use the medicine and other treatments for long times.

Take care.
