Hi, my name is Warren, In january I contracted a mosquito born disease like Ross River Fever called Barmah Forest Virus which is mostly an Australian disease. This flared up in early February which is when my symptoms started as cardiac related and as a result I had no less than 17 emergecy visits for symptoms of heart attack, After CT s for pulmonary, coronary, abonomen as well as 2 echo tests and a 24hour holter monitor I was finally cleared of my heart. In the mean time regular twice weekly visits to my GP and blood tests performed I was confirmed I had contracted Barmah Forest Virus? The problem was thiswas already 2 months into my illness. After waiting 1 month to see a respiratory specialist I was diagnodes with Cosrtochodritis. I do have a question for the costrochondritis if you can help me? I was prescribed a pain killer called norspan (5mg) and Dothep (which the Dothep made me very ill) to help me sleep which was supposed to assist with the recovery, the problem is it has put me back about 4 weeks in my recovery as my chest is now very sore as not only did it help with sleep, it made me nuasious and had me in bed 24hrs a day for 7 days and the constant laying down aggrivated this. My question now you know some background information is, Why would I not be prescribed anti inflammitory medication if it is inflammed costal region? Also for a seondary question, can costrochondritis cause nuasea? Thank you very much in advance, having 3 months off work so far is frustrating let alone the problems it is having on my personal live with my wife and 2 young children.
