Continued Sore Throat. Diagnosed Tonsilitis, Prescribed Phenoxymethyl Penicillin Potassium And Ibuprofen. Change In Antibiotics Needed?
Ive been diagnose with tonsilitis, i am 21 years old, Height 6.1, The GP give me Phenoxymethyl penicillin Potassium 1 Gram 4x aday x 5 days plus Ibuprofen,. The fever is gone but my throat is still very sore. Do u think i will continue my antibioics? Can I ask the Dr to change the antibiotics to a stronger one, I am just worries because its been 2 weeks. thank you . marco

Hi,
If full course of penicillin is done, wait for 2-3 days more and wait for result.
If there is no improvement then your doctor may change the antibiotic.
Ok and take care.
