Constant moodiness since joining gym to lose weight. Why is it happening?

Hi, my wife has been very moody lately, it started around the time she started going to the gym and changed her eating to lose weight. It's not uncommon for her to be moody when she's tired, but she's constantly moody nowadays. Is it related to her new diet? If so will it change? Or could there be something else going on?
