Constant Diarrhea With Pungent Smell, Vomiting. Antibiotics Provide No Relief. What Is Cure ?

Hi I am currently living in Sri Lanka, I have been here 5 weeks and have been sick from day 2 - constant diarrhoea which has changed many times over the last 5 weeks, black and tar like, to green to now a constant stong flowing yellow liquid that is pungent. I have been to the hospital 3 times, antibiotics amongst other things, but nothing has worked, I go to the bathroom at least 20 times a day and during the middle of the night too. I cant eat or drink as it leaves my body instantly. I am also vomitting, which I think is out of tiredness and stress - I cant seem to get a answer or nay relief - In really think I have a bug in my gut, but noone is listening

Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Such symptoms are usually caused by bacterial infection indeed. However pancreas inflammation or inflammatory bowels disease should be also considered. Every diarrhea which last longer than 48 hours needs to be checked with stool tests. Tar like stool should not be ignored as this is a symptom of bleeding from peptic ulcer.
I suggest you to have stool test and stool culture test first. Amylase level, liver tests, blood work (CBC) should be also done. Antibiotic should be selected basing on stool culture result.
If nothing will be found, colonoscopy should be next.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
