His heart is functioning only 14%.Now a days, he is facing a problem of severe headache . When he sits, his blood pressure is low but as he lies down, blood pressure shoots up suddenly by 20-25% and he gets severe headache which is unbearable.please tell what could be the cause behind it and please suggest some medication for this headache. Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your father's symptoms.

The headaches are suggestive of vascular headaches, probably related to fluctuation in he blood flow to brain in sitting and lying down positions. The main treatment is required to make the heart better.

He has a poor cardiac function. Dobutamine infusion may help improve th heart function.

If medicines do not help, heart transplant surgery is a good option.

For headache, he can take ibuprofen tablets.

I hope it helps.

Best wishes,
