Congestion In His Lungs, Tired. Taking Cap. What Could Be The Reason?

Julie’s husband Doug has not been feeling well for the past 10 days. He has congestion in his lungs and has been very tired. She talked him into going to the doctor a week ago when his temperature was 101 degrees F. The doctor gave him some oral amoxicillin , which he took faithfully until it was gone. But she still thinks he looks sick.Julie, Doug, and their 3-year-old daughter have just moved to Ohio from Arizona. Doug is a park ranger and he loves his job, but for the past three days he has felt too sick to go to work. His respiratory symptoms have not improved. what does julies husband have?

Your description suggest more in favor if some lung infection. Mere giving amox may not work. If first attempt of treatment is not effective, better go for some investigations like X ray chest, blood counts etc after consulting your chest physician. You did not mentioned about smoking status, If patient smokes best thing to do right now is to quit smoking and then go for further evaluation. Also check for insect bite marks over body, as there a some infections which often occurs in forest dweller and they usually do not response to usually prescribed medicines.
