Condom Broke During Intercourse, Ovulation Time, Took Nordette. Will I Get Pregnant?

Hi,

My husband and I had intercourse early morning (September 30) around 1AM using a condom but after the deed, we found out that the condom broke. My LMP date was September 11 and my menstrual cycle is averaging at 32 days. I am using a Period Tracker app in my phone and it showed that my day of Ovulation is September 29. I took Nordette (4 pills) this morning (7:30AM) and I will drink the next dose at 7:30PM tonight. Will I get pregnant?

Thanks for writing in.
Emergency contraception pills can prevent up to 84% of expected pregnancies if used within 72 hours of the incident. They may offer some protection for up to 5 days but results are not that good.
You were beyond 72 hours as far as I understand & your hormone dose was a little less effective one. So, chances of failure or getting pregnant are certainly there.
You may opt for an IUCD insertion within 5 days of the incident if you are not ready for a pregnancy. This will hopefully save you from an unwanted pregnancy.
