Colonoscopy Scheduled. When Should I Take Pico-salax And What Should Be The Dosage?

I am booked for a colonoscopy Monday at 11:15am. On the instruction sheet I am told to take a second packet of Pico-Salax 4 hours before this procedure, but the office nurse put 9:15 am which is 2 hours before. My question is which time is correct? Four hours or 2 hours? Since it is weekend I can t contact this person before Monday.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H. C. M. Forum.
Since colonoscopy requires empty bowel ( large intestine , rectum , colon and anal canal) , so picosulphate ( pilo-salax) , laxative should be taken at least 4-5 hours before this procedure so that all gases and fecal matter passes from colon.
Good luck.
