I was admitted to the hospital on 6/28/2012 for colitis . I had severe stomach pains and watery diarrhea . I remained hospitalized for 8 days. Biopsies and stools samples came back negative. Still having right sided abdominal pains and flaky stools. Also stomach is still make gurgling sounds on lower right side. What could these be? Should I be concerned?
To treat IBS you should follow these precautions: 1. Eliminate spicy foods, fried foods and acidic foods from your diet. 2. Do not drink alcoholic drinks, carbonated drinks, coffee and milk. 3. Quit smoking cigarettes(if you do smoke). 4. Reduce the amount of fiber in your diet. 5. Take antacid medicines such as Nexium 40 mg 1 pill daily, for 2 weeks..
You should contact your gastroenterologist to discuss about the treatment and dosages.
