Cold Sore. Rubbed Alcohol With Cotton. Skin Burnt. Applied Aloe Vera.

I had a coldsore and it scabbed over so to help it heal quicker I put rubbing alcohol on it with a cotton ball. I put a lot on and held it there for about 30 seconds and I did that twice before I wentCold to bed. I woke up this morning and now the art of my face I held the cotton ball is really red and looks like a burn. what is going on, how can I fix it and how long will it take for it to heal to the point where it looks like nothing ever happened. (The area affected is about the size of a half dollar coin) I am 16 and a boy if that helps at all. The only thing that I have done to try and help it is put Aloe vera on it (straight from the plant)
