Cold, Sharpness In Nose, Yellow Fluid From Nostrils. Why Does This Happen?
Earlier today I was outside and it was very cold . I felt sharpness at the top of my nose . Then later today, I was bending my head and yellow fluid started leaking out of my right nostril . Then again about 3 more times through the night. It s only when I bend down my head. It s not a mucus it s just water that almost looks like bright yellow urin? I haven t heard my head or fallen recently. My diet has drastically changed in the past week, I don t know if that could have something to do with it.

It is imperative that you see an ENT as soon as possible because of these points:
1. A discharge from the nose without cold can happen due to many causes but the most worrisome is a condition called the CSF rhinorrhoea. If this is what is causing your leak then it has to be taken care of immediately as it may lead to infection of the brain.
2. You need to undergo endoscopy to try and delineate the cause of the leak
3. A routine CT may not be very helpful in this condition, you need to go for a CT called the contrast CT for proper diagnosis in this condition
4. Collect a sample of the fluid and send it for CSF analysis
5. Your diet change may also have something to do with the leak indirectly so give full information of the type of change to your doctor
do not strain and do not blow your nose

Hi,
It seems that you are having allergic rhinitis due to exposure to heavy cold.
Nothing to worry.
Take some antihistamine or decongestant tablet for immediate relief.
Put some decongestant nasal drops in right nostril.
Ok and take care.

allergic sinusitis
on exposure your sinuses are infected and the infected fluid drains from sinus through nostrls
to avoid recurence need to get xray pns waters view and get treated for that in consultation with ent doctor
for this episode use metronidazole 200 mg bd for 5 days
add anti allergic tab
neomycin h ointment in nose bd sea water 2 drops in each nose bd
use analgesic sos
